Landholder Engagement Officer

Trust for Nature

About the role

At TFN, our ‘product’ is a conservation covenant – a legal agreement that protects nature on private property forever, and our ‘customers’ are people who own land with high conservation value. Since January 2024, properties in Victoria with a Trust for Nature conservation covenant on them are exempt from land tax. This presents an exciting and substantial opportunity for us to promote the benefits of covenanting to private landholders and increase the extent of private land in Victoria protected forever for nature.

This newly created role will be essential in driving landholder engagement and delivering self-funded covenant targets. This includes following leads and responding to enquiries, building relationships with landholders, compellingly communicating the benefits of covenanting to protect nature forever, guiding landowners through the covenant opportunity from enquiry through to an agreement and providing continuous support to facilitate the covenanting process.

This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position with the opportunity for extension. The role is based in Melbourne CBD with occasional travel throughout Victoria, we welcome flexible work and working-from-home arrangements.

The role offers a base salary of $86,242 p.a., plus super. This is not a commission-based role.
