Primary purpose the role

This position is responsible for coordinating the delivery of all emergency and disaster recovery services within the state, specifically:

  • Work collaboratively and cohesively with the state SAES Response Co-Ordinator and SAES national operations team
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and state government and equivalent stakeholders
  • Initiate & manage contracts/agreements for recovery services across the state
  • Build and maintain relationships with divisional teams and local mission expression leaders
  • Ensure recovery programs are resourced with competent support staff and are managed effectively and training is provided as required

As the ideal candidate you will be a leading presence in the sector within the state to promote and advocate the needs of people seeking services from the Salvation Army. This position is a member of the national SAES leadership team and will contribute to national plans, frameworks and practice to ensure innovative and community members centred service delivery to meet current and future needs.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Plan for and lead the implementation of national frameworks and practice within the state
  • Provide expertise/ leadership on the establishment of state emergency recovery management/ activation plans
  • Keep the state SAES Response Co -Ordinator informed on relevant state recovery matters through regular communication
  • Collaborate with the SAES Response Co -Ordinator in the area of contract negotiations, partnerships and funding opportunities with state government bodies
  • Seek out, identify and act on new funding opportunities

This is a permanent full time role located in Malaga, WA The salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 6 award.

What you will bring to the role

  • Relevant qualification in related field or equivalent experience in the sector
  • Extensive experience in emergency and disaster response program delivery
  • A National Police Record check is required
  • A Working with Children Check is required
  • Travel within and to other states may be required
