The role you could play

We are seeking a dedicated Doorways Case Worker to support community members to meet their goals through community partnerships, collaboration and using case management as a tool.

Duties

  • Work collaboratively with Corps Officers, Volunteers, and other co-located Mission Leaders to deliver an integrated approach to delivering Doorways
  • Assessment of community members' specific needs, strengths and identification of interrelated issues and needs
  • Develop high quality case plans with community members to identify achievable goals using a strength-based approach
  • Provide effective response to people experiencing longer term disadvantage and generational poverty
  • Complete assessments and referrals for additional financial support e.g., applications for No Interest Loans (NILS), Energy Assistance, following State based practice guides and processes

This is a permanent part-time position, based in Dingley, VIC. We are offering 15 to 18 hours per week, however willing to negotiate (be flexible) number of hours with the successful candidate. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4 Award.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Degree level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or other Community/Human Services discipline is highly desirable, or a
  • Diploma and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the community services sector would be considered
  • Displays an optimistic approach to work
  • Respond with initiative to changing service priorities and operating environments
