The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Program Manager to strategically develop and manage quality client-centred service delivery of the Youth Homelessness services. The service provides early intervention, prevention and access to a variety of accommodation options and targeted holistic case management support for young people aged 15-25 years of age.

You will successfully

  • Ensure service delivery aligns to all aspects of the Youth Services model of care, Journey to Independence
  • Service operations incorporate approved frameworks, practices, and procedures
  • Lead and ensure services are inclusive, accessible, and responsive for our diverse clients
  • Lead change through implementation of innovation in line with State and National Agenda's
  • Actively participate in Alliance Management Team
  • Development and management of program budgets and finances
  • Line management & supervision of team leaders
  • Ensure recruitment of quality & qualified workers
  • Lead and drive local and growth strategy
  • Building, maintaining and evaluating collaborative relationships with external and internal partners

This is a 12month Fixed Term position covering maternity leave, starting on the 2nd of January 2024. This position reports to the State Manager Youth Services SA/NT .Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 7.

You will have

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field
  • Demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development
  • 5+ years experience in leading and supervising staff
  • Psychometric Clearance (in line with SA Legislation - Child and Youth Person Safety Act 2017)
  • Safe Environment for children and Young people training
  • Apply First Aid
  • A current SA Drivers Licence
  • Valid SA Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
