The Wilderness Society is working for a future that does not rely on continued destruction of nature and our climate, but rather flourishes because of our responsible stewardship of these core life support systems. We value organisational independence and integrity. Be part of a team that’s secured some of the biggest wins for Australian wilderness and nature: stopping the damming of the Franklin River forty years ago, keeping big oil out of the Great Australian Bight, or defending special forests the length and breadth of this continent.
The NSW Community Organiser will play a key role in driving strategic initiatives to engage and mobilise supporters for our campaigns, focusing on both local and online platforms.
You will lead in the development and implementation of organising and mobilisation efforts for campaigns both in NSW and continentally. This includes enhancing strategies to facilitate collective action while fostering growth in our capacity.
Collaboration with various departments such as Campaigns, Communications, and Membership and Fundraising will be integral for cross-organisational movement-building endeavours. You will not only contribute to specific Wilderness Society campaigns, but also participate in broader movement-building activities.
Our approach to diversity is about embracing everyone. If you identify as a First Nations person, a woman, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, a person with a disability, a person of colour, or if you are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, we strongly encourage you to apply.
Please Note: We will be conducting rolling interviews as we receive applications, so be sure to apply as soon as you can!
