POSITION FOCUS

We are looking for an enthusiastic and staff member to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills in relationship building, networking, working with other agencies and young people, professional training, and project planning.

The role is primarily:

• Assisting our food program (packing and distributing food bags)
• Assisting our Homework Club. Working with Primary School aged kids in North Melbourne (around 3pm - 6pm)

The position is entirely an office based position (North Melbourne) and there is very limited work from home component to this role. The role is paid based on the relevant award and is around 12-15 hours per week including administrative and preparation work. The hours are variable and serve as an estimation only. There is scope for program change and additional work on other programs in the future.

The role would be well suited to uni students and/or those trying to gain experience in the non-profit sector.

It is very important that staff can regularly commit to regular shifts, as we are a small team.

We are seeking paid staff to help to pack the food bags which we provide as part of our weekly food program. The job is open to all applicants, but please be aware the job is physically demanding and requires frequent lifting and carrying of food goods. The job will involve initial training/induction with the supervision and support of other paid staff.

Hotham Mission is a not-for-profit organisation providing community support for people in and around North Melbourne, Flemington and Kensington. We deliver community development, intervention and capacity development programs empowering people to exercise agency over their lives.
