What we are looking for

A Financial Analyst who can make a true difference and tell a story through their strong grasp of numbers, seeing connection between the seemingly unconnected and a balance of the short, medium and long term view. Your ability as a strong collaborative business partner to the organisation will ensure strength in our decision making and informing our strategic future. This role reporting to the Head of Corporate Planning & Performance.

Your day will include

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis and forecasting to support the organisation’s financial performance
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts by collaborating with various departments, provide financial insights and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support decision making, scenario analysis and long-term strategic planning
  • Generate financial reports using our core financial and BI systems, including Sage Intacct, Salesforce, & CRM Analytics
  • Compile UNICEF Australia’s Monthly Executive team and Senior Leadership team financial reporting packs, statements, and key performance indicators, Monitor, manage, and report on UNICEF grant funding finances
  • Collaborate closely with UNICEF Australia's Fundraising teams, providing financial guidance and building their financial acumen to improve data informed decision making
  • Engage cross-functionally with Finance and Business Solutions teams to facilitate the creation of new financial dashboards and upkeep of existing reporting
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the financial planning and analysis function

We would like you to have the following skills and experience

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or other relevant area of study, or equivalent working experience and
  • Qualified accountant with ongoing professional membership preferred.
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, including proficiency in financial modelling, variance analysis, and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends and draw meaningful insights to support decision making.
  • Strong Presentation and Financial modelling skills
  • Advanced competency in Excel.
  • Experience of medium sized ERP/CRM/BI solutions with Sage Intacct / Salesforce and CRM Analytics is highly desired
