What we are looking for

UNICEF Australia is in search of a Philanthropy Manager to join our Fundraising team. Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager, you'll manage relationships with major donors and trusts in Victoria, focusing on both acquiring new donors and nurturing existing relationships.

Your day will include

  • Strategise methods for increasing high-value donor income by securing major gifts from individuals and Trusts/Foundations in VIC
  • Drive the development and implementation of a new mid-value product in the VIC market
  • Cultivate and expand existing high-value VIC relationships through exceptional relationship management, with plans to increase this number over time via effective prospect management
  • Implement effective business processes and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency and risk management for VIC High Value donors
  • Exhibit positive and effective leadership within Fundraising and UNICEF Australia, integrating Philanthropy seamlessly into the wider program

We would like you to have the following skills and experience

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in Philanthropy/Major Donor/Trust & Foundation Fundraising at Management level
  • Exceptional and persuasive written and verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional organisation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skill with a natural ability to build relationships
  • Knowledge of professional fundraising standards, practice and regulatory compliance issues
  • A dynamic, self-motivated ‘people person’.
  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working in the international aid and development sector
