UnionsWA is seeking a Finance and Administration Manager to take responsibility for day-to-day planning, implementing, managing and controlling of accounting and finance-related activities of the organisation.

This is a “hands on” position. You will be responsible for payroll, accounts receivable and payable, as well as financial reports and budget preparation, reporting to the Secretary.

You will be responsible for statutory reporting and preparation of Financial Statements, working closely with our Auditors.

Persons suitable for this role will have significant experience working as an Accountant, formal qualifications in accounting or other qualifications acceptable for membership to a professional accountancy body and a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of modern accounting practices, procedures and accepted standards.

This is a full-time ongoing position with flexibility and partial work from home options, however part-time may be negotiated for the suitable candidate. It is based in the Perth CBD and is available for an immediate start.

Generous conditions are applicable, in accordance with the UnionsWA Inc Staff Agreement which includes:

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • A strong commitment to trade unionism and/ or social justice
  • A minimum of 10 years’ bookkeeping experience
  • MYOB competent
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Qualified for membership to a professional accountancy body

Desirable experience:

  • Accounting/ finance experience relevant to an Incorporated Association, and/ or a Registered Organisation, would be highly regarded.
  • Organisational policy experience
  • Staff supervision
  • Office management
