About the role:
This is a full-time closed period contract until February 2025 – 70 hours per fortnight in Oran Park NSW.

Join Uniting's Family Connect and Support (FCS) program as an Aboriginal Family Worker and be part of a team dedicated to providing high-quality, culturally responsive support services. As an Aboriginal Family Worker in the Family Connect and Support program, you will play a crucial role in supporting Aboriginal families with medium to high complexities. Your responsibilities will include delivering culturally appropriate services, case management, service coordination, and actively engaging with the local Aboriginal community.
- Engage and maintain connections with the Aboriginal community, respecting cultural practices and values.
- Provide tiered support services to children, young people, and families in line with program guidelines and Uniting's policies.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 20 families, delivering evidence-based interventions and case planning.
- Utilize flexible client engagement approaches including home visits, cold calling, and community meetings.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and referrals.
- Maintain accurate client records and contribute to program improvements and evaluations.
Your Qualifications & Experience
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with appropriate evidence of Aboriginal identity.This is an identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. - Minimum Diploma in Social Work, Community Services, or related fields with relevant experience.
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities and families, understanding child protection issues and legislative requirements.
- Proficient in case planning, service coordination, and risk assessment.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check and driver's license.
