Are you a seasoned leader with a knack for driving process improvements? Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead our dynamic teams in Parramatta CBD.

About the Role

This is a management role, typically requiring 6 or more years' experience managing a large team in a complex, high volume, constantly evolving environment. 

As the Accounts Payable Manager, you'll spearhead the Accounts Payable and Expense Management teams, ensuring accurate financial transactions and fostering strong business partnerships. Your role will focus on driving system and process improvements, acting as a subject matter expert across procure to pay. You will work closely with the Finance Process Excellence Manager to translate business and strategic objectives into targets, tactical plans and action steps which team members can effectively implement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Accounts Payable and Expense Management teams effectively.
  • Act as the Subject Matter expert for impacted Accounts Payable and Expense management processes and systems on projects.
  • Manage BAU system issues, including any system developments, and liaise with IT on any issues or changes that will impact on the team
  • Ensure all monthly Balance sheet reconciliations and reports are completed and accurate in line with month end timelines
  • Identify and drive process efficiencies and system improvement opportunities.
  • Manage month-end activities and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Coach and develop team members on systems and processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CA or CPA qualified preferred.
  • Bachelor's qualification in relevant field or equivalent experience required.
  • 6+ years managing large teams in complex, high-volume environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a BAU role whilst also driving and implementing systems and process improvements
  • Experience in shared service environments managing large volumes & high complexity of transactions is essential
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in ERP software and Excel.
  • Track record of system implementations and change management.
  • Competency in end-to-end Procure to Pay process.

Even Better:

  • Knowledge of Aged Care funding and reporting.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
