- Cyber Security Business Analyst
- Fixed-term full-time contract to 30th November 2025
- Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days WFH)
As a Cyber Security Business Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Uniting’s digital assets while driving high-impact cyber security projects and initiatives. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll collaborate closely with product owners and stakeholders across the organisation to define, prioritise, and deliver solutions that ensure security and value.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitating Workshops and Process Mapping: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritise requirements using agile practices.
- Solution Delivery: Partner with consultants and technical teams to ensure solutions align with business needs.
- Security Capability Uplift: Support discovery, requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, and documentation for projects and BAU activities.
- Agile Practices: Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Process and Solution Validation: Ensure alignment with both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Testing Coordination: Lead testing efforts, including user acceptance testing.
- Change Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption of solutions.
- Team Support: Foster collaboration across IT teams, stakeholders, and delivery teams to achieve project goals.
Skills and Competencies
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to deliver creative, timely solutions.
- Organisation: Strong planning, time management, and goal-setting skills
- Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience in cyber security implementations (e.g., Network Segmentation, Cloud Security, IAM, Email Security).
- Basic understanding of cyber security frameworks, risks, and compliance.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, and industry standards like BABOK.
- Agility: Proficient in agile methodologies and participating in scrum ceremonies.
- Soft Skills: Creative thinking, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst, with a focus on cyber security projects.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, defining business value, requirements, and benefits realisation for multiple technical projects in various lifecycle stages
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience navigating complex organisations, forging relationships, and influencing outcomes.
