Join a dynamic, forward-thinking team at headspace Early Psychosis, where we’re dedicated to providing early intervention mental health treatment to young people aged 12-25 experiencing or at high risk of psychosis.

About the Program

The headspace Early Psychosis service is a nationally recognised leader in youth mental health, specialising in early intervention and recovery-focused care. The service includes three core teams: Mobile Assessment & Treatment, Continuing Care, and Functional Recovery, and operates based on the Orygen EPPIC model, which is renowned for its effectiveness in treating first-episode psychosis

Your Role:

As a Career Medical Officer you play a vital role in providing clinical care to young people and their families and other clinicians, with the aim of improving clinical outcomes and patient management within the program

In this position, you will:

  • Provide direct clinical care and guidance to young people at risk of psychosis.
  • Develop and implement individualised management plans.
  • Work collaboratively with families, clinicians, and community services to support patients' mental health and personal development.

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for General registration as a medical practitioner by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. 
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • You’re a qualified medical practitioner, experienced in mental health, with strong communication skills, advanced life support training, and a passion for recovery-focused care.
  • You thrive in team settings and bring a proactive, inclusive approach to patient and family engagement.
