About the opportunity:

Are you passionate about supporting families to thrive? Uniting is seeking a caseworker to join our family preservation team in Dubbo NSW. This is more than a job – it’s your chance to play a vital role in helping families stay safe, strong and connected.

As a Case Worker, you’ll engage with families from diverse backgrounds and cultures, working alongside them to achieve their goals and address child safety concerns. This is a deeply rewarding role, where your compassion, sensitivity, and expertise will help build parenting and family capacity. You’ll be a key part of our team, ensuring that families have the support they need to grow and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

• Culturally responsive support: Provide tailored, strengths-based assistance to families.
• Family Case Plans: Work collaboratively to develop and implement family case plans aligned with program models.
• Domestic Violence Support: Utilise evidence-based interventions to support families impacted by domestic violence.
• Parenting Skills: Empower parents and carers by role-modelling and teaching effective strategies to help them care for their children.

This role is targeted towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, recognizing the importance of community connection, cultural knowledge, and lived experience in supporting families to stay together.

Your Qualifications & Experience

• Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related.
• At least 2 years’ experience working with children and families using a strengths-based approach.
• Have a solid understanding of early intervention principles and experience with child protection issues.
• Skilled at working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills, able to identify family needs, strengths, and potential risks.
• Hold a current NSW WWCC and a current NSW Driver’s license
