About the role

We are currently seeking a Course Developer with a clinical nursing background to work in a small collaborative team to design and develop high-quality training and assessment materials and people-centred learning experiences. The role is integral to learning and development and involves working across both accredited courses and non-accredited learning programs that empower our staff and elevate the quality of care across Uniting’s services.

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong understanding of education and learning design, with experience in the development of learner and trainer materials, including the design and development of assessment tools. Your language and communication skills will be a key strength for producing high-quality written materials and in particular designing test questions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Design & Development: Create engaging, evidence-based clinical and non-clinical content, incorporating multimedia and interactive learning modules. Ensure materials reflect up-to-date clinical standards and best practices.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure course content meets regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards, adhering to the VET framework and RTO requirements.
  • Industry Engagement: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the training programs.
  • Trainer & Assessor Support: Provide training and guidance to trainers and assessors, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update course materials, using data-driven insights to improve course effectiveness.
  • Customisation of Training: Develop inclusive learning programs that reflect Uniting’s values, catering to a diverse workforce.
  • Project Management: Assist in the administration of learning tools, maintain schedules, and support key projects within the Learning@Uniting team.
  • Financial Management & People Leadership: Manage budget allocations, actively engage in performance management, and model professional behaviour aligned with Uniting’s values.

Key Requirements

  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) with active registration or Enrolled Nurse (EN) with no notation on enrollment. TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or TAE0116).

Experience

  • At least 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in aged/community care.
  • Experience designing and delivering Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs,
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and a passion for continuous improvement in learning design.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with Uniting’s systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in the human services/not-for-profit sector.
