This exciting new service requires a Clinical Director to provide key professional leadership for the headspace Early Psychosis Canberra.
The role collaborates with the Operations Manager as a management team, implementing the Orygen Youth Health Early Psychosis model, incorporating a youth-oriented culture through clinical, recovery and appropriate phase of life development supports for the 12-25 age group.
This includes providing oversight of medical interventions, medico legal considerations, clinical risks, while also training and supervising medical staff.
The role also includes contributing to continuous improvement in policy and practice development, and the training and supervision of the multidisciplinary clinicians. There will be a clinical load as negotiated with the Operations Manager.
The headspace Early Psychosis Canberra is funded by the Australian Government. It was first established in 2014, and works to make a difference to the lives of young Australians, who either have a first episode of psychosis or who are at ultra-high risk of developing psychosis. Orygen Youth Health supports the national program through ongoing collaboration, training and fidelity inspections.
The service is provided by Uniting NSW.ACT and the pay and conditions will be similar to the Canberra Health staff specialist agreements.
