Role Overview

We are seeking a Clinical Governance Specialist to join our dynamic CRG team. Reporting to the Executive Manager Nursing and Clinical Governance, you will be responsible for performing a range of high-level governance activities across all services at Uniting. Your role will involve integrating the clinical governance framework to optimally benefit our consumers and support clinician engagement in their essential functions.

Responsibilities

As an integral member of the Consumer, Risk and Governance Directorate the following key accountabilities for the Clinical Governance Specialist include:

  • Support nursing and clinician engagement strategies, including the development of clinician engagement strategy.
  • Conduct high-level independent data validation activities and contribute to the development of continuous improvement programs with subject matter experts.
  • Support clinical communities of practice and provide input as a subject matter expert.
  • Review and author clinical policies.
  • Conduct critical analysis of current practices in comparison to the latest evidence-based practice.
  • Raise the profile of clinical care and Nursing at Uniting in alignment with our 10-year strategic plan.
  • Facilitate the integration of the clinical governance framework across Uniting.
  • Provide analysis of relevant research and information to assist managers in evaluating and integrating received information.
  • Promote safe work practices consistent with Uniting’s policies and comply with all WH&S legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Actively contribute to a safe and supportive working environment that is inclusive of all staff through celebrating their nationality, cultural background, LGBTI status, abilities, gender and age.

Qualifications and Experience:

In order to be successful in this position, the right candidate must have:

  • Bachelor's qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Current AHPRA registration with no limitations.
  • Master's degree in a health-related specialty.
  • Driver’s license valid in NSW

Experience:

  • Typically, this role requires 10 or more years’ experience in a pertinent professional field.
  • Proven track record in administering and supporting clinical governance frameworks.
  • Experience in policy development, review, and implementation within healthcare settings.
  • Strong skills in engaging stakeholders, conducting consultations, and delivering effective presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and analysis.
  • A demonstrated passion for social change and contributing to an organisation of influence for the most disadvantaged.
  • Skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse current clinical practice against the latest evidence for a variety of specialty services across Uniting.

Even better:

  • Sound experience/understanding of human services sector
  • Qualification or experience in data analytics
