About the Role:

As the Clinical Practice Lead, you will spearhead the clinical transformation across Uniting's Seniors Services. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a central team of clinical and practice specialists, driving systemic improvements in clinical care and ensuring continuous improvement, while minimising risks and enhancing person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:

Consumer Partnerships:

  • Actively engage with the Quality Consumer Advisory Body, ensuring the consumer voice shapes quality care at Uniting.

Governance and Leadership:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, providing strategic guidance and supervision, and managing resources to drive exceptional clinical standards.
  • Influence clinicians across service levels to promote evidence-based practices.
  • Operate as a Subject Matter Expert, providing clinical advice that builds capability and enhances the client experience.
  • Stay current with research developments, integrating insights into practice to keep Seniors Services at the forefront of aged care.

Clinical Systems and Safe Care Environment:

  • Champion systemic improvements in clinical care governance that minimize risks and enhance consumer outcomes.
  • Embed learnings from clinical risk incidents into policies and procedures, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
  • Play an integral role in Quality of Care and Home and Community Care initiatives, advocating for person-centered quality care.
  • Provide expertise in tenders and business development proposals, enhancing service delivery models through innovation.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Collaborate on the development and evaluation of clinical healthcare frameworks and governance systems, ensuring safe, effective, and consistent care.
  • Develop and monitor Clinical Governance and Practice Frameworks to proactively manage risk and improve care quality.
  • Analyse clinical data to identify trends, inform practice reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Workforce Development:

  • Identify training needs and develop practice development programs in collaboration with the learn@uniting team to enhance clinical skills and knowledge across the directorate.

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification and relevant AHPRA registration.
  • Master’s degree in a clinical field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including aged care and clinical governance.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven senior leadership in clinical practice development, governance, and risk management.
  • Expertise in clinical and health services, with a deep understanding of the needs of older adults and factors impacting consumer safety.
  • Strong data analysis skills to inform decision-making at both local and organizational levels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence change and build high-performing teams.
  • Passion for social change and a commitment to making Uniting an organization of influence for the most disadvantaged.
  • Advanced knowledge of clinical program logic models, frameworks, and research methodologies applied in practice.

  • Capability in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring each is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality.
