About the Opportunity

St John's Child Care (Neutral Bay) is a not-for-profit Long Day Care Centre, providing Quality Care and Education to birth-6-year of age. The centre caters for up to 44 children and is easily accessible by public transport via Military Road. Operating hours are from 7am-6pm.

As an active team member, you will be required to support the service in the provision of high-quality care and education for children.

What you’ll be doing in this role

As a Cook, you'll create delicious, nutritious meals and snacks for children (0-5 years), making mealtime an exciting experience! You'll follow food safety standards while catering to dietary needs and allergies.

Plus, you'll manage stock, place orders, and collaborate with the team to engage children in fun cooking activities, ensuring they develop a love for healthy food!

Who we’re looking for

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential)
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or Children's Services (Desirable but not required)
  • Preferred Experience in meal preparation for the Early Child Care setting.
  • Flexibility required for all areas (E.g. Menu adjustments and work hours)
  • A team-player attitude, with the ability to work effectively with staff and management
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
