This is an identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT1977

Successful applicants will be required to provide a Confirmation of Aboriginality.

In this role, you will deliver the Enabling Cultural Capability module to Uniting People Leaders.

This role is responsible for facilitating this module to increase the cultural capability of People Leaders and enable leaders to provide culturally appropriate management style organisation wide

You will work with Learning and Development team and the First Nation Strategy and Outcomes Unit.

A positive, professional and mutually respectful relationship with Uniting staff is critical to the success of the education delivery model.

Role Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Deliver structured, flexible, relevant and interesting training sessions and assist all learners, regardless of level, to achieve their training goals
  • Communicate and work closely with the Learning and Development team and other key stakeholders
  • Foster safe learning environments and constructive conversations
  • Be familiar with and contribute to the review of the training and assessment strategies for the program
  • Participate in industry consultation activities and development of new content as required
  • Efficiently manage resources associated with the course delivery and undertakes all required monitoring, evaluation and reporting associated with the courses.

Qualifications:

  • This is an identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT1977. Successful applicants will be required to provide appropriate evidence of identity as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Current industry skills and knowledge that aligns to cultural capability training

Skills and Experience:

  • Current industry skills and knowledge that aligns to cultural capability training
  • Minimum 3 years' experience facilitating cultural capability sessions
  • Demonstrated understanding of factors impacting First Nation people
  • Ability to deliver face to face training programs
  • Ability to manage sensitive content and views of participants
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
