What you’ll be doing in this role

As a Uniting Home Care Worker, you will help us ensure continuity of care for our clients as you provide support and companionship for older people living on Sydney's Lower North Shore. You will empower independence and improve the quality of life for our clients in their own homes.

With a focus on supporting our clients to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible, duties and responsibilities can include:

  • Help at home: housekeeping, grocery shopping or meal preparation
  • Personal Care: personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing, help at mealtime or medication administration
  • Transport for wellbeing: appointments or shopping trips or accompanying clients on social support activities

Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care.
  • You’ll be empathetic and resourceful and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
  • You’ll also be flexible and prepared to help meet our home care clients' changing needs and schedules.
  • You’ll need a provisional or full Australian driving licence and ongoing access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle (not just CTP).
  • Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support or an equivalent qualification. If you’re not currently qualified we can help you get there.
