About the Opportunity

This is a permanent part-time opportunity with a minimum of 16 hours a fortnight across Northwest and Western Sydney.

  • SCHADS Level 2 base rate starting from $33.41 per hour (depending on experience) with additional penalty rates, superannuation, and salary packaging benefits.
  • Salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 per year - pay less tax
  • A fixed roster with a combination of weekday and Saturday shift is required
  • Flexible to work 7 days a week from 9am to 7pm

Our service operates 7 days a week environment from 9am to 7pm. The roster looks like:

  • e.g. 9am to 1pm on Wednesday and Saturday or 9am to 1pm Tuesday and Saturday. Additional shifts can be offered - morning, afternoon, evening including weekend shifts.

Uniting is currently looking for flexible and dedicated Disability Support Workers to engage with participants living with various physical and mental disabilities under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across their homes in Western, Northwestern, Southwestern and Inner Sydney. If you possess a caring and compassionate nature, along with a "can do" attitude, and you genuinely seek a job where you can make a meaningful difference by building their capacity with daily living, we have a role that is suitable for you.

What you will be doing;

  • Aiding with daily life activities both at home and in the community.
  • Supporting individuals with their educational and work-related endeavors.
  • Facilitating access to various community, social, and recreational activities.
  • Assisting with transportation to enable access to daily activities and engagements.

Who we are looking for;

  • Previous experience or qualifications in disability or aged care
  • Possession of a valid NSW Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Check
  • NSW Driver’s license (can be on Green P Plates) and Comprehensive car insurance are required for the role.
  • First Aid Certificate is also a necessary qualification.
