About the Opportunity

Are you looking to make a difference and improve the lives of older people in our community?

As a Neighbourhood Coordinator for Groups you will develop & facilitate social, special interest, exercise, wellbeing groups.. you name it. If you have an idea about what would be beneficial for the community, we want to hear about it. You will also lead the team of support workers across several locations to bring the vision to life.

The Neighbourhood Coordinator will manage a ‘Neighbourhood’ of ‘Groups’ that take place over several locations. The ideal candidate for this role will be excited by this opportunity to expand and develop a program so that it can reach its true potential.

You will develop understanding relationships with your clients and oversee the coordination of services to help navigate the support each individual client’s needs.

The Neighbourhood Coordinator will ensure their team fosters strong and professional relationships with each client and their circle of support. They will be the central point of contact for clients attending the Groups and manage enquiries and referrals.

About you

  • You have or are working towards a Diploma or Bachelor qualification in a relevant field (such as Leisure & Wellness, Aged Care or Healthcare) or Certificate qualifications with relevant work experience.
  • Experience supervising a team 
  • Significant understanding for client needs, to convert these into positive service delivery outcomes
  • Strong experience in activity planning, wellness & reablement. You will need to be passionate about building engagement for older people in the community
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills, with the client always at the centre
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage budgets
  • Confident in building and maintaining strong working relationships, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to build participation in the Groups
  • Passion for social change and contributing to an organisation of influence for vulnerable, at risk and disadvantaged members of the community
  • Proficient in using multiple computer applications, as well as the willingness to learn new systems/programs
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
