About the opportunity 

Uniting is committed to the safety and wellbeing of consumers in our aged care services.

Uniting are seeking Registered Nurses to work as a Night Duty on call triage and telehealth Nurse.

This is a newly created position which will be responsible for providing after hours clinical on-call support our Residential Aged Care Homes and as well as Home and Community Care services in NSW.

This is a 7 day position from 9pm to 7am we will consider location based on individual availability to work in with the role.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Clinical triage, assessment and clinical care coordination via telehealth
  • Provide direction to care staff / consumers in line with procedures and in keeping with the RN and care staff scope of duties
  • Liaising with medical and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate appropriate client-centred care.
  • Ensure clinical advice support consumers choice and decision making in a manner that aligns with Uniting’s organisation values.

Qualifications 

Registered Nurse, endorsed by AHPRA

Skills & experience

  • A good understanding of contemporary aged care, clinical practice and clinical leadership in a aged care setting
  • Previous experience in the aged care sector and telehealth clinical support nursing
  • Insight into how relevant state and Commonwealth legislation impacts aged care services
  • A good knowledge of the ACFI funding instrument and aged care accreditation standards
  • Great written documentation and assessment skills
  • Tech savvy with a good grasp on client/data management systems and a knack for learning new programs
  • Great communication skills and the ability to get along easily with others
  • Able to problem solve, negotiate, mediate and resolve conflict
  • Great understanding of Work Health and Safety Principles and infection control
  • Confident leading and contributing to a team.
