We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Nurse Practitioner to join our Seniors Services Team for North Coast and North West NSW. This position can be based in Goonellabah, Yamba, or Kingscliff, some travel will be required. 

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide clinical services to residents living in our Residential Aged Care facilities (RAC) and in their own homes in the community space. This role is vast in its scope. You will be responsible for providing consultations in acute care episodes, chronic disease management, wound care, psychotropic management, dementia care, deprescribing, optimising consumers' health, making referrals, and addressing local facility and community priorities.  

You will work collaboratively within the broader operations support team and in close partnership with our Residential Aged Care (RAC) Service Managers, Deputy Service Managers, Neighbourhood Coordinators, and Registered Nurses. The focus will be on leading best practices, helping us be better every day, building capacity within our care teams, and enhancing the clinical care provided to all Consumers of aged care. 

This role is pivotal not only in supporting and improving the quality of care delivered to our Consumers but also in leading the training and development of our care teams within our Uniting community. supporting the ongoing professional development and development of clinical staff. Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide advanced clinical care to residents, ensuring that all care meets legislative and regulatory requirements. 
  • Lead and support the professional development of Registered Nurses through mentoring, coaching, and the delivery of blended learning solutions. 
  • Conduct learning needs analyses to ensure that clinical staff have the skills necessary to meet current and future service requirements. 
  • Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Consultants, internal clinical experts, and external training providers to enhance the quality of care provided. 

About You 

  • Current AHPRA registration and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner, with a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 12 months in Aged Care. 
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in clinical care, including legislative and regulatory requirements. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire others in their professional development. 
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and the ability to foster a culture of continuous learning.
