This is a permanent part-time opportunity working a minimum of 21 hours per week in the local government area of Parramatta (With Inactive sleepovers and Night Shifts)

  • Required to work mostly Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 4pm to 11pm with inactive sleepover until 7am (sleep on-site)
  • Flexibility to work overnight, morning or afternoon shifts as this operates 24/7, weekends and public holidays if needed.
  • SCHADS Level 3.1 $37.35 per hour with salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 per year plus penalty rates, sleepover allowance, and 11.5% superannuation.

Roster

Our service operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week (7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm, 4pm to 11pm plus inactive sleepover until 7am, 11pm to 7am).

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will be working across our Homeless and Community Services (HCS) focusing on our Men’s, Women’s and Youth programs, you'll provide high-quality care and support to those facing homelessness or at risk. You'll help break the cycle of homelessness through personalised support, advocacy, and skill development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for client choice and independence.
  • Monitoring and review of case plans with the case manager
  • Assist with intake and assessment of clients as well as maintaining reports or clients’ files
  • Trauma-informed practice background in providing support and assistance to individuals who have experienced trauma.
  • Maintain high standards of conduct and performance.
  • Ensure seamless service delivery and coordinate communication.
  • Actively engage in team meetings, performance management and continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to Uniting's values, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive working environment.
  • Transport of clients when required.

Your Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV (or actively working towards) in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work, or a relevant field.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Driver’s License

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience working with Youth, Men’s or Women’s and Children's Mental Health.
  • Proficiency in working with vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge of best practices for Specialist Homelessness funded Services.
  • Computer skills for timely and accurate client information.
