Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time Technical Business Analyst with robust Power BI skills. This role is integral to our Data Services and Strategy team, focusing on working with stakeholders to identify current business processes, integration points, and areas of improvement. You will create detailed technical requirements documentation for handover to the data engineering team, breaking down complex issues and identifying solutions that meet both strategic and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Data Services & Strategy team.
  • Utilise Power BI, SQL, and analytics skills in all stages of the project.
  • Consult with internal customers through workshops and presentations.
  • Apply analytical skills in capturing, documenting, and interpreting business requirements.
  • Participate in the selection process for new solutions, including defining selection criteria.
  • Produce high-quality requirements documentation and review functional design documentation.
  • Develop “to be” business process maps, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation.
  • Work closely with developers and testers during project build and test phases.
  • Develop business scenarios and test scripts for system integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Support project team with all testing activities and issue resolution.
  • Support customers through post-go-live issue resolution.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to other team members and customers.
  • Develop standard processes to evaluate candidate projects to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Contribute to change management and communication activities.
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews to validate solution internalisation and benefits realisation (conduct root cause analysis).

Operational Processes

  • Ensure constant communication and involvement of all stakeholders in your area of responsibility.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming, prioritisation, showcases, and participate in retrospectives.
  • Demonstrate functional leadership.
  • Take ownership in creating business requirements and business process maps.
  • Support the project team with test script creation, testing, issue resolution, training, and all cutover preparation activities.
  • Contribute to impact analysis to support project change, communications planning, and change readiness.
  • Support projects in defining and documenting business or technical processes.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business analysis, data management, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Analyst, Business Analyst, or Functional Consultant.
  • Experience with Agile implementations and methodologies.
  • Strong functional leadership and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Proven analytical and documentation skills ensuring high-quality documentation and solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with team members and customers.
  • Strong time management skills, highly structured, and detail-oriented with a commitment to "on-time, every-time" delivery.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
  • Understanding of project delivery and acceptance processes, preferably within a Health or Aged Care environment.
  • Strong business/client engagement skills, including interview and workshop facilitation.
  • Proficient in analytic tools such as Power BI, spreadsheets, flow-charting, and process diagramming.
  • Proficient in developing simplified process maps and business requirements.
  • Ability to simplify complex processes.
  • High competence with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience documenting business requirements and developing instructional and procedural documentation and presentations.

Desirable

  • Experience in Aged Care business processes and Human Resource systems.
  • Experience / skill in Agile methodology.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector.
