ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We're currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team as a phone-based Triage Clinical Nurse, on-call after hours. This is a Sydney-based role, rotating facility roster in the Metro area.

This is a newly created position, the purpose of which is providing high level customer service after hours clinical on-call support for our Home and Community Care services and Residential Aged Care Homes across NSW and helping to facilitate their operational goals. This is a 7-day position from 9:00pm to 7:00am, 76 hours/fortnight. The role is split between two staff; 3 days on, 4 days off; 4 days on, 3 days off; alternating every second week.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

  • This role is to support triage and palliative care throughout Uniting Sydney Metropolitan residential care homes
  • Flexibility for travel is essential for this role
  • Sydney-based

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • responding to service delivery demands in the most efficient, effective, calm and professional manner;
  • utilising your sound nursing skills to assess the situation/s and provide recommendations based on the customers’ needs;
  • working and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information flow; and
  • utilising available systems and platforms to track and record information that can contribute to clinical research and best practice activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Nurse, endorsed by AHPRA
  • Sound generalist nursing skills
  • Highly developed telephone-based triage clinical assessment, support and advice skills
  • Genuine interest and passion for community nursing
  • Highly developed negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Proven ability to work as a team and independently
