About the Role
This is a permanent full time (35 hours/week) position based in Dubbo NSW.
A new opportunity has arisen for a Caseworker to join our Doorways Program where you will make a significant impact working with 16-23 year old’s in the Youth Service Team based in Dubbo.
Within a team environment, you will provide information, referrals, "drop in support", crisis services, and strengths-based casework that is driven by the needs of young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Orana Region.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences and/ or demonstrated prior learning with relevant life and work experience with young people
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting on homeless young people and their families, particularly in Regional and Aboriginal communities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, honest and productive relationships with young people and or their families and to develop a support plan, provide casework support and follow up.
- Ability to provide effective assessment and referral for a variety of issues and facilitate young people's access to services that will meet their needs.
- Demonstrated commitment to services driven by the needs of young people
- Ability to initiate and develop positive connections with relevant agencies, programs and services in local communities.
- Current drivers licence and willingness to transport service users around Dubbo and surrounding areas
- In-depth case note recording skills and proficient use of systems and Microsoft application
- Competencies in strength based solution focussed framework
- Willingness to facilitate living skills groups
- Ability to work flexible hours
