Generalist Lawyer

Join our Legal Services Team as a Generalist Lawyer and make a difference by providing expert legal advice, representation, and advocacy to clients accessing our Law Centre for assistance. You'll manage a diverse caseload, representing clients in courts and tribunals, and contributing to various areas of legal practice. Your expertise in criminal law, civil law, social and family law is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer accurate and specialised legal advice, representation, and advocacy to clients seeking assistance.
  • Conduct court representations, manage court files, and engage in litigation as required.
  • Supervise restricted and other Lawyers within the Law Centre and assist with student and volunteer inquiries.
  • Contribute to law reform issues and community legal education, developing resources and outreach programs.
  • Participate in policy and program review and development, ensuring adherence to ethical and high-quality service standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Law. admitted in the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia.
  • An unrestricted practicing certificate (Category C).
  • Proven experience in various areas of law, supervision, and working with diverse client groups, including disadvantaged and CALD communities.
