  • Base Salary $140,913 - $148,684 + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

As the Research Development Manager, Infrastructure, you will be responsible for applying for competitive funding to support the purchase of equipment for the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator. You will also have the opportunity to cross-skill by working on Research Grants for other parts of the University’s Research Portfolio as needed.

This is an unique job-share opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to get involved in the landmark Sydney Biomedical Accelerator project and contribute to world-class research being conducted by the University of Sydney.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Work in a dynamic team reporting into the Research Development Manager, Research operations
  • Provide high level advice on strategies to maximise the quality of research and optimise University researchers’ access to funding both from government and industry
  • Work with senior researchers, research leaders and PSUs to develop strategic and business plans for new research infrastructure initiatives
  • Represent the University to external organisations and funding bodies at state, national and international levels, maintaining effective relationships with key contacts
  • Identify leading and emerging research infrastructure capability in individuals and groups in the University for strategic development opportunities at scale by successfully leveraging prizes, awards, and fellowships

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field (a PHD would be highly regarded)
  • Proven ability to coordinate and manage research infrastructure grants
  • Demonstrated experience drafting research infrastructure grants
  • Proven experience in developing networks, partnerships and collaborations within the Research Infrastructure domain
  • High-level problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
