About the Role

The Centre for Social Justice & Inclusion is currently recruiting for a Gender Equity Programs Manager to provide leadership for gender equity strategic priorities at UTS, particularly the Athena SWAN program, and for ensuring innovative leading equity, diversity and inclusion practice.

The incumbent will work closely with senior staff across faculties, divisions and senior executive to ensure engagement and commitment to sustainable culture change that embeds gender equity across our University. There will be an initial focus on the Athena Swan program but this may change as the university recovers from financial constraints experienced under COVID19.

As the Gender Equity Programs Manager, you will:

  • Lead the implementation of UTS’s Athena Swan action plan by liaising and collaborating with relevant stakeholders; monitoring implementation of agreed actions; ensuring appropriate evaluation frameworks are established and implemented
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with UTS’s reporting requirements under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012
  • Ensure that the university takes an intersectional approach to gender equity by leading by example. This includes ensuring that diverse cohorts of women are heard and represented
  • Engage with internal stakeholders including UTS senior management, the Athena SWAN Implementation Committee team, faculty and division leaders and staff and, where relevant, students
  • Develop and document project plans, business cases, scoping documents, communication plans, evaluation documents as required
  • Oversee the design, implementation and evaluation of internal and external communications and events to support engagement with UTS gender equity programs

With examples from your previous work experience, please outline, in a separate document, how you meet the following five (5) key selection criteria points below:

  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective networks to influence outcomes, and work with diverse people across all levels in respectful and culturally appropriate manner
  • Demonstrated project management experience and abilities, including the ability to engage others, build partnerships and facilitate effective working relationships that produce results.
  • Demonstrated skills in identifying and working with a range of data sources to produce high level proposals and reports
  • Significant demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating innovative programs and /or policies that address equity and diversity, social justice and/or social inclusion issues at a systemic level and are aligned with the organisation’s priorities, using evidence based practices.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or expertise in relevant areas such as human resources, equity and diversity/social justice

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $124,237 to $130,152 pa (HEW 9).

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
