The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The Aboriginal Support Worker collaborates with VACCA’s Family Services to deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate care to children, families, and carers. The role involves developing casework skills by shadowing experienced staff and directly supporting families, including assisting with appointments, financial aid, and other needs to ensure positive outcomes.
Demonstrated commitment to VACCA's values, with a strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures and contemporary issues. Possesses strong interpersonal, conceptual, and written skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Capable of multitasking, prioritising, and working both independently and in a team, with good organisational skills and attention to compliance. Reliable and enthusiastic.
Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver's Licence.
