About the role

The Family Services Training Lead is responsible for enhancing the skills and cultural competency of VACCA Family Services staff through targeted training initiatives. This role involves developing and delivering training programs that increase staff capability, understanding of trauma impacts, and overall job satisfaction. Additionally, the position requires building relationships with internal stakeholders to tailor learning solutions and embedding cultural practices into all training modules.

About You

  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding for the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact Aboriginal communities
  •  Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Sound knowledge of and practice experience in the child and family welfare sector as well as experience working with Aboriginal children, families, and communities
  • Experience in project planning with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Sound understanding of the process of identifying training needs and capacity to deliver high quality and relevant training package
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, culturally appropriate, and respectful way with a range of clients and stakeholders
  • Experience in developing and delivering education curricula on training packages that are directed towards improving outcomes for children, families, and their communities
  • Experience and confidence in public speaking and facilitating workshops
