The Family Violence Counselling and Group Facilitator provides trauma-informed 1:1 counselling and group facilitation for Aboriginal women, children, young people, and families impacted by family violence. The role involves delivering therapeutic counselling, conducting risk assessments (MARAM), developing safety and healing plans, and supporting clients in both service-based and outreach settings. It also includes facilitating culturally safe group programs to foster trust, connection, and healing while maintaining accurate case notes. Guided by VACCA's therapeutic framework, the role emphasizes healing through culture to support individuals and families effectively.
Provide culturally safe and high-quality services to Aboriginal women, children, and young people impacted by family violence. This includes delivering therapeutic interventions, conducting assessments, safety planning, supporting clients in flexible and client-led ways, and facilitating access to programs. The role involves outreach, home visits, transporting clients, preparing group materials, providing referrals, and contributing to program evaluation and improvement while maintaining professional relationships and accurate documentation.
