About the role

The Intensive Family Services Case Worker will work within the Family Services team to support, Aboriginal people and their families who are referred to the Family Services program through several, referral pathways, including self-referrals and/or from other community agencies.

As a caseworker your role will be to create a culturally connected and nurturing environment for families, ensuring Aboriginal culture is integrated into the program. They provide timely and effective family. Support services, including home visits on a weekly or fortnightly basis, to strengthen parenting skills.

About You

We are seeking a candidate with a demonstrated commitment to VACCA's vision and values, including experience engaging with Aboriginal families and children on agreed goals and tasks using a strength-based approach. As a successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in case management, culturally appropriate interpersonal skills and identification of risks in case management/ work practice and implements procedures to minimise/ eliminate negative outcomes and improve practice knowledge. Qualification in relevant field is desirable.

Requirements: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
