The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The Manager (Identified) will lead VACCA’s research team, advancing an Aboriginal evidence base for child and family services. They will identify key research needs, manage projects, ensure alignment with Indigenous research methods, and foster relationships with stakeholders. The role also oversees program evaluations and manages the Research Advisory Group.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to VACCA's values, with a deep understanding of Aboriginal cultures and issues affecting Aboriginal communities. They should have experience in culturally informed research, team and project management, and writing research or evaluation outputs. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to motivate staff, and a commitment to ongoing professional development are essential, along with a strategic understanding of the importance of building an Aboriginal evidence base for service delivery.
This position is designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals under Section 12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. As such, it is exclusively available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
