The Senior Project Officer, Emergency Preparedness and Planning works within VACCHO’s Public Health and Partnerships Team to support Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) to assess and prepare for public health emergencies that may occur over the summer 2024-25 period, and in the lead-up to winter 2025. This includes preparedness and planning activities for pandemics and localised disease outbreaks, natural disasters and weather-related emergencies, and other external threats that Victorian Aboriginal Communities may face. Specifically, the role will involve administering grants to enable or increase preparedness and planning activities across Victoria and working in partnership with ACCOs to ensure that planning is supported by teams within VACCHO, or by relevant external partners and government agencies. This is a part-time position of 2 days per week.
Some of the key responsibilities for this role is providing high quality and proactive project administration to ensure that grants are promoted, accessed, and distributed to eligible ACCOs and coordinate responsive support to ACCOs seeking support from VACCHO to undertake preparedness and planning activities. You will also develop and maintain project plans, communications plans, and risk registers as directed, ensuring that project deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
We are looking for someone with a minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, we also require a tertiary or diploma level qualifications relevant to the role, or equivalent hands-on experience.
