For the experienced and future-thinking Practice Manager, this role is the perfect opportunity to take a step up in professional development and play an exciting and instrumental role in the startup, leadership, growth, and success of a General Practice, situated in Port Macquarie.

As the Practice Manager for Valiant Health, an emerging health services brand, initially you will work in partnership with a Senior GP, and in consultation with a team of business specialists, to establish a practice focused on community wellbeing, patient-centred care, and future accreditation. Post-launch, you will transition to manager and leader of the day-to-day operations, to deliver quality General Practice services, whilst nurturing the ongoing development of a practice and team you can be proud of.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Practice Planning & Launch

  • Advising on, and working collaboratively towards development of clinic policies, procedures, processes, and systems, in relation to practice needs, and in accordance with RACGP standards.
  • Assisting with resource procurement, implementation, and management, in areas such as inventory, IT systems, and personnel.
  • Engaging in stakeholder consultation, project meetings, and project communications.

Operations Management

  • Overseeing and proactively maintaining all aspects of practice operations, including:
    • patient service standards, scheduling, and utilisation of services,
    • point of sale systems and processes,
    • balancing profitable workflows with high standards in quality and safety,
    • digital record keeping and compliant management of data,
    • inventory and resource allocation,
    • workforce coordination and personnel development,
    • equipment and inventory maintenance, and
    • application of quality improvement principles.
  • Liaising with an internal team of specialists, who are there to assist in strategic operations, accounting and payroll, IT, marketing and communication, and people and capability.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and managing performance in relation to practice needs, issues, and progress of clinic.

Leading Your Team

  • Employing effective leadership methods to foster a workplace culture that embraces person-centred delivery of services, professionalism, ethical conduct, teamwork, inclusivity, team wellbeing and safe work practices.
  • Setting service standards of excellence and leading your team in professional, ethical, and compliant communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Establishing and nurturing strong, positive relationships with practice personnel, broader organisational teams, health care professionals, and community stakeholders.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Demonstrated experience in Practice Management, with development of leadership capabilities, workforce planning, and fulfillment of clinic and business operational management duties.
  • Confidence and proficiency in leading processes relating to front desk and patient management systems, HPOS services, PRODA, Medicare, mixed billing, online claiming, MBS.
  • The knowledge necessary for significant contribution to the establishment and ongoing development of a compliant, person-centred, and profitable General Practice that seeks accreditation against RACGP standards.
  • A tertiary qualification (Diploma level or above) in Practice Management, Medical Administration or similar in health, or business management is highly regarded.
  • Technical literacy, with confidence in training and supporting your team in the efficient and effective operation of practice management software and systems.
  • Confidence in managing, coordinating, leading and motivating teams, with a commitment to the ongoing development of healthy and engaging workplaces.
  • An exceptional approach to customer service, with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and a commitment to professional, compliant, and ethical conduct.
