ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising the Fundraising Manager is a critical role within the Fundraising team, with responsibility for driving revenue, generating activities and managing the acquisition of new individual donors. The Fundraising Manager ensures existing donors are retained and grows our stewardship and cultivation program through various channels, such as cash appeals, regular giving, high value, mid value donors and bequest programs. The role will include briefing and managing agency partners, monitoring channel performance and identifying opportunities for real time tactical changes to optimise ROI.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Drive the individual giving strategy and grow the value of our fundraising from appeals and campaigns, regular giving, bequests, major gifts as well as supporter acquisition, cultivation, stewardship, and engagement.
  • Develop annual campaign plans to achieve revenue growth and improve profitability by increasing the supporter base, improving loyalty and conversion of supporters to our campaigns including donation processing, thank-you communications, outreach calls, stewardship events, and retention strategies for both cash and regular donors.
  • Develop a mid to high-value giving program, while managing income and expenditure budgets and forecasts for all individual giving initiatives.
  • Deliver end to end multi-channel campaign management which will include collaborating with external partners, agencies and interstate counterparts.
  • Effectively brief and manage agency partners and internal stakeholders to drive fundraising and participation in campaigns.
  • Work together with the Fundraising and Marketing teams to establish appropriate processes and communications to nurture current and potential donors
  • Set annual campaign budgets and track and manage revenue and expenditure budget to reach and exceed fundraising targets.
  • Maximize the use of various digital channels to acquire, engage, and retain donors in the individual giving sector, improving digital fundraising strategies and practices.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards for data processing and collection.
  • Write donor-facing materials to support fundraising efforts, including case studies, program narratives, case for support documents, participant profiles, and more.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient internal processes for tracking and reporting on the health of the individual giving segment within the CRM.
  • Undertake post campaign analysis to inform the strategic planning of the fundraising portfolio for continuous improvement.
  • Design and launch donor-focused events in partnership with the Community Fundraising and Events Manager.
  • Oversee the acknowledgment and payment processes for individual donors and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and consultants to ensure timely and budget-compliant service delivery.
  • Regularly scan the industry to benchmark activity, track trends and identify opportunities to create new and grow existing campaigns.
  • Proactively contribute to process improvement across Variety.

ABOUT YOU

This role will suit a seasoned fundraising professional with experience in a similar role. The type of experience we are looking for is as follows:

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in developing and managing fundraising campaign plans.
  • A thorough understanding of regular giving programs.
  • Strong understanding of digital fundraising tactics.
  • Experience in data driven marketing skills.
  • Experience of working to a budget.
  • Experience in managing agency relationships.
  • High attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage own workload, including competing priorities.
  • Well-developed planning, implementation and reporting and tracking skills.
  • Previous experience in working together with a team to achieve fundraising targets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A valid Working with Children Check.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia on a permanent basis.

ABOUT THE BENEFITS

  • Salary $110,000 - $120,000 per annum
