The Organisation:

The Victorian Allied Health Professionals Association (VAHPA) is an industry-based Union for Allied Health Professionals working in Victoria in the Public, Community and Private sectors. VAHPA is an autonomous branch (Victoria No. 3) of the Health Services Union.

VAHPA is a democratic community of Allied Health Professionals. We are a political organisation. Position Objective:

The Membership and Administration Officer is a key point of contact for current members and prospective members, via phone and email enquiry.

The Membership and Administration Officer is responsible for a range of administrative duties, including the maintenance and primary management of our membership database, website and social media platforms, record keeping and administrative and logistical support to the other Branch Teams and employees.

The successful applicant will need to be an office all-rounder.

Reports to: Branch Secretary.

Salary: $67,849.60 to $82,539.60 (plus 10.5% superannuation)

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Commitment to the principles of trade unionism and social justice;
  • Commitment to the vision, values and objectives of VAHPA and the ability to promote those values and objectives;
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities so as to be able to successfully complete a broad range of administrative tasks in an dynamic environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and autonomously;
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and ensure membership record are accurately maintained and secure;
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with members;
  • Experience with handling membership enquiries;
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of membership databases and IT systems;
  • Computer skills relevant to the position including familiarity and proficiency with the MS- Office suite of applications, website and social media platforms;
  • A current Victorian (or equivalent) driver licence; and
  • Eligibility to hold a Right of Entry Permit in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009 or subsequent legislation.

Desirable Selection Criteria

  • Knowledge of the Victorian healthcare system.
