VAHPA is looking for a highly experienced Workplace Organiser to join our team of dedicated Industrial Relations activists.

Overview of Position

VAHPA Workplace Organisers work to improve the wages and conditions for Victorian Allied Health Professionals. The Workplace Organiser is a tenacious shop-floor activist, a political facilitator and a negotiator. Organisers unify and coordinate VAHPA members to enable them to harness and express their political power in an effective way. All VAHPA employees are to approach each work task with the aim of advancing the size and strength of the collective and of fostering member solidarity.

Organisers build close working relationships with Allied Health Professionals through respectful engagement, education aimed at empowerment, and a commitment to the collective struggle. VAHPA organisers exhibit expertise and integrity. Workplace Organisers work collegiately with all VAHPA employees to ensure the union is best placed to pursue its objects and always be true to its Mission Statement.

The Organisation

The Victorian Allied Health Professionals Association (VAHPA) is an industry-based union for Allied Health Professionals working in Victoria in the public, community and private sectors. VAHPA is an autonomous branch of the Health Services Union—HSU Victoria No. 3 Branch.
