22.5 hours contracted, with potential to extend to 30 hours

About the Role

This position is focused on maintaining positive relationships, identifying capacity building partnerships and utilising inventive approaches to program activities that promote cohesion, joy and active citizenship.

The role will be focused on asset-based approaches to Community Development and will support the Manager to maximise the Centre’s ability to support a caring and connected neighbourhood in an inclusive and accessible way. This includes seeking out opportunities to meet the diverse needs of the vibrant Vic Park community which is lucky to be called home by many cultures, ages, businesses, social groups, lived experiences and family set ups.

Experience and expertise in communication, project management and fundraising are fundamental as you will be required to use initiative and work without supervision. This will include grant writing, producing program copy and collateral, hosting events, evaluation and acquitting activities. We are seeking an organised individual with the ability to (metaphorically) juggle - as you will be required to shift focus from actioning the micro (detailed, face to face) to the macro (big picture ambitions) to connect program outcomes to strategic goals and a sense of wider positive social change.

Requirements of the Role

Essential:

  • Grant writing experience
  • Project management experience (planning, budgets, comms, evaluation and reporting)
  • Knowledge of Asset Based Community Development and grassroots engagement
  • Knowledge of access and inclusion protocols
  • Experience organising / facilitating groups and workshops
  • Experience with communications, design and social media marketing (Facebook and Instagram)

Desirable:

  • Photography / videography experience
  • Experience with Eventbrite, Canva, Campaign Monitor and WIX
  • Knowledge of Space to Co
