Victim Support Service (VSS) is a not-for-profit community-based organisation, with a history of more than 40 years of supporting victims of crime.
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Specialist in Service Delivery and Development to play a critical role within VSS in the delivery of its strategic objectives, at a pivotal time for the organisation.
You will have an exciting opportunity to drive and influence improved outcomes for victims of crime across South Australia, through your passion, your empathy, strong relationship building skills and sector experience.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert advice on policy development and service design to the VSS Board.
- Overseeing the development and reporting of strategic and operational targets aligned with the VSS Business Plan.
- Analysing, scoping, developing and implementing projects and programs to meet identified strategic needs.
- Building and maintaining strategic partnerships to support business development and growth.
- Developing tools, resources and training content to increase understanding and skills in the sector, including through training to the corporate sector.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of VSS services, ensuring they align with quality and safety standards.
- Working closely and collaboratively with the General Manager and an experienced and passionate Board.
Reporting to the VSS Board, you will have the following essential skillset:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in policy development, process mapping, and managing projects.
- Experience in learning and development and/or demonstrated understanding of sector building priorities.
- Experience within the criminal justice sector and/or experience supporting victim-survivors
- A willingness to be “hands on” to deliver strategic outcomes.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to positively represent VSS and advocate for victims.
- Ability to quickly develop networks to build strategic and professional relationships and influence key stakeholders.
- Ability to present to the Board and prepare reports.
- A high degree of empathy and understanding, and an interest in improving the lives of others, particularly vulnerable clients.
- High level of flexibility.
