St Vincent de Paul (also known as Vinnies) is a major international charitable and voluntary organisation that has operated since 1884. We aim to provide for the various needs of disadvantaged people in the community by genuinely addressing poverty and hardship through assistance and advocacy.

We do this through our local member networks, known as Conferences, which operate across 60 communities throughout the State, and through our Special Works.

The Society has around 2500 members and volunteers as well as over 125 employees.

This exciting role is suited to someone with excellent communication skills, a passion for working with Young People and Students, and a desire to be involved with social justice and advocacy.

Reporting to the Community Development and Engagement Co-Ordinator, this role will be responsible for:

  • The position is accountable for supporting the establishment of an active and engaged state-wide youth conference network.
  • Delivery of youth (12-18 years old) leadership and engagement programs, workshops, activities and events in conjunction with schools pertaining to Catholic social justice teaching and/or broader social justice issues.
  • Support the delivery of mini-Vinnies programs within schools.
  • Support the Vinnies appeals and fundraising activities within schools & universities.
  • Support the recruitment of youth conference/members and volunteers.
  • First point of contact for all school-based enquiries.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Experience in community engagement and development, ideally in the youth or schools sector
  • Experience and knowledge of schools/education sector.
  • Track record of creating strong internal and external relationships.
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Commitment to the Mission and Values of the Society.

Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite, and in using community fundraising and peer-to-peer fundraising online platforms will be highly regarded.
