The Victorian Trades Hall Council (VTHC) is looking for a person who is excited about experimenting with digital organising to fundraise for working people.
We’re looking for a fundraising organiser to work in our digital and communications team, running our digital fundraising program and supporting unions to run digital campaigns.
Duties include
- Identify and develop fundraising opportunities for affiliated unions and Trades Hall teams to raise money to support their work, including a regular donor fundraising program
- Help to manage social media channels, websites, and our email program
- Write and edit compelling emails, and develop copy and strategy for social media fundraising campaigns
- Assist with managing our membership lists, including monitoring and interpreting how people engage with the emails we send, if the emails are effective in raising money, and if the email list is growing
- Create and test fundraising landing pages
- Develop ideas for events and other innovative fundraising strategies
- Establishing an organisational Bequests program
Requirements
There are no formal education requirements. Even if you only meet some of these requirements, but think you’re right for the job and are ready to learn, we're keen to hear from you.
- A commitment to social justice and trade union principles
- Fundraising experience
- Understand basic data analysis, experience in developing and interpreting A/B tests
- High level digital fluency, including knowledge of and experience with digital campaign platforms
- Keen to contribute to a team culture of experimentation, innovation, evaluation and learning - willingness to take risks and make mistakes
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with a solid understanding of how to apply these to campaigning, and able to communicate complex issues simply and clearly
- Able to take initiative, solve problems, and identify opportunities to win campaigns and grow our movement with tech solutions
Salary
Trades Hall has a collective agreement with a monthly RDO and 12% superannuation. The position will be paid at a level 4 or 5 (approx. $79-$87,000) in our classification structure, depending on experience.
This position will be based at Trades Hall in Carlton, Victoria and will report to the Secretary through the Communications and Media Lead.
