THE ROLE OF A BOARD DIRECTOR

The Waverley Social Enterprise Board of Directors are responsible for making strategic decisions and ensuring strong governance of the company. As a Board Director, you will be instrumental in providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to our organisation. This is an exceptional opportunity to:

  • Contribute Strategically: Shape and guide the strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Ensure Governance: Uphold the highest standards of governance and ethical practices.
  • Advocate for Impact: Champion initiatives that align with our mission and have a positive impact.

This Board position is offered as a voluntary role.

We are seeking Board Director candidates with the following desired experiences and qualities:

  • Proven track record of effective leadership in senior roles
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to organisational planning
  • A strong commitment to collaborative decision making
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk management
  • Knowledge of risk and compliance requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to articulate ideas clearly and listen actively
  • A passion for making a difference and contributing to the organisation's mission and goals
  • A commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the Board and the organisation

To enhance the diversity of experience within the Board it is advantageous to have a strong understanding of any of the following:

  • Strong governance competency, Company Secretarial or AICD qualifications preferred
  • Communications, public relations, marketing and brand positioning.
  • Disability & Supported Employment sector and relevant trends, knowledge of NDIS services and funding
