The Role

Waverley is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Officer to manage our payroll operations with precision and care. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our payroll processes run smoothly and our employees are paid accurately and on time. This is a 6-month fixed term position.

The payroll officer will be responsible for the preparation and processing of all fortnightly and weekly pays in accordance with awards, agreements, company policies and legislation. It will include the processing of adjustment pay-runs including calculations of all pay related amendments and allowances, processing and balancing pays and ensuring all statutory obligations have been met.

The role can be either full-time or part-time within the requirements of the organisational needs and experience of the candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administer end-to-end payroll processes using MicroPay.
  • Maintain payroll records and data ensuring accurate and up to date information.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of payroll data with respect to privacy legislation.
  • Must be able to interpret Awards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Federal and State legislation.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with Micro Pay payroll systems (Required)
  • Previous experience working with Not for Profits and disability sector or similar (Desirable).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with others at all levels of the business.
