Waverley Social Enterprises (WSE) is embarking on an exciting transformation driven by the vision to offer our unique environment to more people living with disabilities, we are a recognised leader in the disability supported employment services sector.

We currently support over 300 people living with disabilities across our 2 sites, Notting Hill, and Hallam. We have employment opportunities in packaging, assembly, warehouse, grounds maintenance, catering, and on-site labour hire. We are providing innovative and meaningful employment for people living with a disability in a supported work environment.

About the Role

Are you passionate about leading teams and supporting others to grow their skills in a collaborative environment? We are seeking a versatile Supervisor to join our team, providing support across our Grounds Maintenance and Production teams on site and off site as needed.

This is a supportive and hands on role working with supported employees (NDIS participants) in the workplace and assisting the team with training and guidance in developing work-related skills. Waverley is seeking someone who has had relevant experience in instructing, training in a supervisory context, and has an understanding of working with individuals with diverse abilities.

Some of the key Responsibilities

  • Guide and support Waverley’s supported employees (NDIS Participants), fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Conduct site evaluations and risk assessments to maintain safety standards.
  • Oversee work setup ensuring job requirements are adhered to and safety standards met.
  • Facilitate training and upskilling in line with individual development needs.
  • Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to meet expectations and deadlines.

Our Ideal Candidate

The Essentials:

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a production environment or similar and ability to adapt to changing needs and environments.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • A keen eye for detail - skilled in coordinating tasks, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Relevant qualifications (E.G process manufacturing, Horticulture)
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Clear communication skills both spoken and written to effectively communicate with people with diverse abilities and needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive work culture, empowering supported employees to achieve their best.

Desired:

  • Certificate III in Community Services or related disability education.
  • Genuine passion for supporting people living with disabilities in a supported employment environment.
  • Experience working for a charity or community-based organisation
