The Finance Officer will perform the day-to-day activities for weekly and monthly finance processing and associated tasks in a timely and accurate manner and to provide expert advice and customer service to the business. Our goal is to pay all suppliers accurately and on time and provide efficient transactional services for the business, which promotes the Finance Team as a professional and supportive team.

  • Pay Level: SCHADS Level 3 - Pay Point 1 ($37.35 / Hour)
  • Contract Type: Permanent, Part-time (0.8 FTE)
  • Number of Places: 1

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable:

  • Apply operational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time.
  • Attend to Accounts Payable queries promptly and professionally, escalating any unknown issues appropriately.
  • Review supporting documentation for invoices to and ensuring appropriate approvals as per the Delegation of Authority policy.
  • Work cooperatively with the Finance team, and for the business, to meet operational and team objectives.
  • Prepare payment batches as required to meet determined payment terms.
  • Prepare the monthly general ledger reconciliation of Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare supplier reconciliations monthly to ensure completeness and integrity of payment batches.
  • Ability to analyse work practices to recommend business process improvements in accordance with best practice.
  • Assist in the Accounts Receivable function, including raising and forwarding invoices, reconciliation of receipts with invoices and debtor recovery.
  • Recoding and reconciling donation receipts as received in collaboration with the fundraising team

Expense management:

  • Perform administrative tasks associated with the expense management system, including but not limited to onboarding, offboarding and performing periodic reviews for policy compliance.
  • Supporting the business in the administration of Cabcharge, Uber for business and various accounts managed by external service providers.
  • Administration of vouchers distribution across the organisation.
  • Support the finance team in processing journals where required.

Banking:

  • Perform bank administration tasks including onboarding and offboarding bank signatories
  • Assist in completing the bank reconciliation on a monthly basis

Other:

  • Perform other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested by management
  • Conduct periodic reviews of the suppliers, employee expenditure, travel expenditure and credit card use
  • Performing ad hoc tasks as requested by leadership.
  • Complete mandatory and other training as required
  • Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, including all workplace health and safety measures

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA - Essential

  • 3+ Years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in MYOB Advanced or comparable finance systems
  • Experience with purchase orders
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own time.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel.
